OUR MISSION

Prayerfully and with Great Commission zeal the Mission Planting Advocates set strategy, serve as catalysts, and identify and employ resourcing for the planting of new churches and ministries among all people groups within Kentucky and Indiana.

OUR VISION FOR MINISTRY

  1. Developing sound strategy in partnership with the Indiana District, LCMS, to anticipate population growth and people movements so as to have churches and ministries available to reach these populations as and while they are arriving.
  2. Designing creative and progressive resources for funding, land/facility procurement, and personnel acquisition to promote an ambitious placing of new churches/ministries into service.
  3. Serving in an advocate-catalyst role to encourage mission mined churches, groups, and individuals to partner in planting multiple ministries each year and thus celebrating the expansion of the Kingdom of God in our midst.

OUR VALUES

Seek and save the lost . . .

we place an emphasis on a mission planting strategies and the employment of personnel and ministry methodology which have a passionate love for the lost, those who do not have a faith relationship with Jesus Christ.
(Luke 19: 10 and Romans 15: 20-21)

Making the most of ministry opportunities . . .

we will pray for eyes to see the harvest and the will to risk immediate response to God-given opportunities in mission and ministry by creatively using every resource at our disposal, both ecclesiastical and secular, for the purpose expanding God’s kingdom.
(Matthew 9: 36-38; Acts 26; 1 Corinthians 9: 19-23; Colossians 4: 2-6)

Biblical stewardship . . .

we will discover, acquire, and wisely manage human, material, and economic resources and efficiently and effectively employ them in the planting of new missions and ministries.
(Matthew 25: 14-30; Acts 6: 1-6; 2 Corinthians 9: 5-15)

Partnership in the Gospel . . .

we will work with local, regional, and national partners within the church, who share our values of reaching the lost for eternal life in Jesus Christ.
(Luke 9: 48-50 and Philippians 1: 15-18)

Rigorous spiritual accountability for resource use . . .

we will maintain and require of those who minister with us the highest standards of biblical accountability for use of resources committed toward the establishment of new ministries.
(1 Corinthians 4: 1-2)

Faithfulness to Scriptural and Confessional teaching . . .

we will hold our ministry planning and implementation accountable to the Word of God and the Lutheran Confessions in both their theology and practice.
(Acts 2: 42; 2 Timothy 3: 14-17; and 2 Timothy 4: 1-5 and Augustana VII)

Indianapolis East Churches Start Planning!
Representatives from eleven congregations throughout Indianapolis and Columbus, Indiana, met together on February 24, 2008, for the purpose of initiating talks about new mission starts throughout East Central and Southern Indiana (see photo at left). Mission Planting Advocates served as the coordinators for this exciting beginning of mission talks. After an opening plenary session, the representatives broke off into 3 “pods” or “clusters” to discuss local opportunities and to set some time tables and goals toward the establishment of these new congregations.
